Yvette Pressley
Pastor
Yvette Stephens Pressley grew up in Walterboro, South Carolina. She graduated from the University of SC in 1987 with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications. After college, Yvette enjoyed a career in pharmaceutical sales covering territories in the midlands and upstate of SC.
In 1989, Yvette married Winfred Pressley. They are the proud parents of Khari, a copywriter who resides in Charlotte, NC and Nia, a graduate student at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
From 2010-2014, Yvette served as Assistant Pastor of Congregational Development at the historic Zion Baptist Church in Brunswick, GA. She is also a certified Family Group Conference Coordinator who facilitates meetings between families and social service agencies. Before coming to Good Sam, Yvette served as pastor of Lynnwood UMC in Lancaster, SC from 2016-2018. During that time, she was also Executive Director of The Bridge, a Lynnwood outreach ministry dedicated to serving and equipping community members through food, fellowship and Bible study. She is also a sought after conference speaker and lecturer.
Yvette graduated from Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, SC with a Master of Arts degree in Theology in 2010. In December 2021, she will receive her Doctor of Ministry degree from Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC. Yvette’s doctoral research focused on a Reimagination of Christian Liberation and Reconciliation.
Yvette enjoys reading, learning new things, and spending time with friends and family. Press likes to golf, play chess, and travel. The Pressley’s are excited to be part of the Good Sam Family.
